Our Story
Our roots trace back to the first Spanish school in San Juan del Sur, founded by a mother who trained her own daughters — and a generation of local teachers — in the craft. In 2015, a small group of those native teachers came together to build a more accessible, video-based way to teach: real one-on-one lessons, over a real internet connection, at a fraction of the usual cost. Arena Spanish School launched the following year. A decade on, we've taught thousands of students from around the world to actually hold a conversation in Spanish — and we're still run day-to-day by native Nicaraguan teachers, not a corporation.
